Introduction
We cycled out via Linton for coffee and on to Castle Camps (129th) back to Shudy Camps (130th) after a bit of a search. We went via two hamlets and a navigation error to Horseheath (131st) and then on to West Wickham (132nd). We returned via Balsham for lunch. About 64k (40 miles).
Castle Camps
The sign depicts a castle, the church, a De Havilland Mosquito from WWII and a farmer ploughing with a horse.
Text on the post "DESIGNED BY CHILDREN OF CASTLE CAMPS 1993 TO COMMEMORATE THE CENTENARY OF PARISH COUNCILS 1894-1994"
Shudy Camps
The sign is made of metal. It shows a plough, ER and a crown and the date 1996.Mill Green and Cardinal's Green
We went through these two hamlets which are part of Horseheath I think.
Horseheath
A splendid marble base with four sides.
The side above shows the coat of arms of the Dimsdale family.
Another side says "This sign depicts the 1834 Derby winner Plenipotentiary bred and trained at Horseheath Lodge. The two crowns represent the visits to Horseheath of Queen Elizabeth I in 1578 and of King George V in 1912 to review his troops who were taking part in Army manouvres in the area"
The third side has the family crest of the Marshall family.
The fourth side says "This sign was presented to the village by Sir Arthur Marshall, Knight, of Horseheath Lodge in memory of his wife Rosemary Wynford, Lady Marshall 1908-1988"
West Wickham
A metal sign showing wheatsheafs, the windmill, the church and a WWII areoplane probably an Avro Lancaster.
Text on the post "To commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 6th Februray 2012"
